Volkswagen Teases the New 6th Gen Polo Ahead of Friday Reveal

The latest iteration of Volkswagen’s compact, European hatchback is set to be revealed this Friday in Berlin and the automaker it drumming up excitement with a teaser shot of the new car.

Bigger outside and in, the new Polo will make the lives of the Europeans who buy them like hot cakes easier.

“This Volkswagen can immediately be made out as the original of its class, but also as a completely new generation,” says Klaus Bischoff, the brand’s head of design. “A Polo with an expressive design which makes the compact sportier, cleaner and unique within the brand range. This is a car that fits in perfectly with our times – both visually and technologically.”

Set on the MQB A0 platform, the smallest version of the widely used chassis, the new Polo is rumored to offer improved engines and tech to keep up with the competition.

AutoExpress reports that the sixth generation Polo will start with a revised version of the 1.0-liter naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine. It offers anywhere from 64 hp to 114 hp.

We also expect to see a 1.5-liter TSI unit, producing 148 hp in its tamest variation and up to 197 hp in GTI trim.

No mild-hybrid is expected for the new Polo.

Volkswagen napoveduje novega pola

Volkswagen je objavil dve napovedni fotografiji šeste generacije pola, ki ga bodo v petek predstavili v Berlinu. To je drugi najbolje prodajani model Volkswagna.

Leto 2017 je v znamenju novih generacij majhnih avtomobilov. Videli smo že novo ford fiesto, v Slovenijo pa so že pripeljali novi kia rio, nissan micra, suzuki swift in seat ibiza.

Konkurenco bo še dodatno popestril novi volkswagen polo. Pri največjem svetovnem proizvajalcu avtomobilov so objavili dve napovedni fotografiji, ne pa tudi tehničnih podrobnosti vozila.

Platformo si deli z novo seat ibizo

Nastal bo na novi platformi MQB A0 za ta razred vozil, ki jo ima tudi nova ibiza. Polo bo po napovedih iz Wolfsburga dobil čistejše oblikovalske linije, bolj mladostniški videz in bogato opremo. Pri tej lahko pričakujemo elemente prenovljenega golfa, kar velja predvsem za nov digitalni zaslon na sredinski konzoli.

Polo je drugi najbolje prodajani model Volkswagna za golfom.
