    Mikro osvežitve za VW velikana

    Veliki Touareg je po prodanih 700.000 primerkih vendarle dobil nekaj minimalnih popravkov in nadgradenj. Prvič ga pokažejo v Pekingu.

    Spremembe so se zgodile na sprednjem in zadnjem delu vozil (bixenon žarometi), nova je oblika nekaterih platišč (18 in 20-palčna), osvežena je barvna paleta (Light Silver Metallic, Sand Gold Metallic, Moonlight Blue Metallic, Black Oak Brown Metallic in Reef Blue Metallic), medtem ko so na motorjih naredili popravke v smeri, da ti potrošijo manj goriva in ustvarijo manj CO2 na kilometer. Določeni motorji bodo po novem povezani z 8-stopenjsko avtomatiko, vgrajen bodo sistem Stop&Start, svetlejšo notranjost bo zagotavljala velika panoramska steklena streha, medtem ko bodo v notranjosti opazni številni novi materiali.

    Kar se motorne palete tiče, slednja je obogatena z več dizelskimi motorji. Na voljo bodo TDI sa 150 kW, 190 kW in 250 kW, medtem ko bencinska paleta ponuja V6 TSI motorja z 213 kW in 235 kW ter 265 kilovatnega V8 TSI. V ponudbi je tudi Touarega Hybrid. Pri VW-ju pravijo, da bo 279 kilovatni hibridni pogon (V6 TSI in elektromotor), na 100 km potrošil 8,2 l/100 km (emisije CO2 znašajo 193 g/km).

    The Touareg is getting a mild refresh that is debuting at the Beijing Auto Show this weekend. For the U.S. market you can expect the engines and trim to remain similar to the current model with only minor changes. New safety features and improved economy should be the primary benefits outside of the cosmetic changes. Look for the face lifted version to hit dealers in the 4th quarter this year.     SUV world premiere in Beijing: Touareg technically perfected and made visually precise

    Ten key facts on the world premiere of the latest Touareg:

    1. New front and rear styling on the Touareg.
    2. Bi-xenon headlights standard in all versions.
    3. Standard automatic post-collision braking system to avoid secondary collisions for all V6 TDI versions.
    4. Interior features new leather colours, accents, buttons/controls and exclusive white illumination of controls.
    5. V6 TDI (European version) fulfils EU6 emissions standard with newly developed SCR-DPF catalytic converter.
    6. All Touareg models have coasting function as standard.

    The Touareg is one of the world’s most successful premium-class SUVs. Within one decade, Volkswagen sold around 720,000 units of the high-class sport utility vehicle; last year alone over 70,000 drivers chose a new Touareg, which combines the best of the passenger car and off-road worlds in one concept. Now, Volkswagen is presenting a world premiere of a further advanced version of the Touareg at Auto China in Beijing.

    The 2014 generation can be made out by the new front and rear designs and by its new colours and wheels. In terms of technology, all V6 TDI versions now come equipped with an automatic post-collision braking system (helps prevent a secondary collision in case of an accident), bi-xenon headlights and a coasting function. While coasting, the engine is decoupled from the 8-speed automatic gearbox to utilise the car’s kinetic energy on mountain descents or in driving phases in which acceleration is not needed. Aerodynamic refinements and the introduction of new tyres optimised for low rolling resistance also improve fuel economy in everyday operation. The V6 TDI engines of the Touareg were converted so that they fulfil the EU-6 emissions standard that takes effect in 2015 in Europe.

    Technical perfection. The standard steel-spring running gear was optimised; improvements include more agile steering response and a gain in comfort. An air suspension is available as an option for the Touareg; it can be used, for instance, to increase the vehicle’s ground clearance by up to 300 mm in off-road driving. At higher speeds (from 140 km/h), the body is automatically lowered by the air suspension. Further developed was ACC adaptive cruise control with Front Assist including City Emergency Braking (now with stop-and-go function).

    Upgraded and networked. The interior of the versatile all-round vehicle is marked by new features, including new accents, leather colours, lighting solutions and controls. In conjunction with the RNS 850 radio-navigation system and mobile phone preparation, the Touareg will launch with “mobile online services” starting this autumn in Europe. In the initial phase, the following will be available: Points-of-Interest (POI) search via Google, map display via Google Earth™ mapping service, Google Street View™ functionality and “online traffic information”. The latest version of the Touareg will launch on the market in diesel (TDI), petrol (FSI and TSI) and hybrid (TSI plus e-motor) models this summer.

    Exterior design and features

    Front end. The front-end design of the Touareg was completely re-developed. Especially distinctive are the headlights which are now larger; moreover, bi-xenon headlights are now standard on all versions of the Touareg. The trapezoid-shaped lights create a line towards the re-designed radiator grille in the middle of the vehicle. In contrast to the previous model, the grille is trimmed with four transverse chrome fins instead of two; the two lower fins are visually extended into the headlights. Together, the radiator grille and headlights form a prominent wide band. Designed as a parallel line beneath it is the new bumper, which is now styled for a more horizontal effect. The new design gives the Touareg an even wider and more impressive appearance. Fitting into this visual image is the lower area of the bumper with its completely new look. As on the new Scirocco R, the 280-PS sports car from Volkswagen, the lower air inlet now forms a stylised “A” instead of a “V” that transitions into the side air inlets to the right and left. This gives the new Touareg a fuller stance on the road. When the “Chrome & Style” package is ordered, there is a chrome strip on the next level, which is continued into the side and rear body sections. Beneath this strip are the newly designed fog lights that are coordinated with the new bumper design. At the bottom level, there is a new front spoiler which perfects the aerodynamics of the underbody and the front wheels.

    Rear section. From the rear, the more precise styling of the Touareg is marked by its new, cleanly designed bumper, which – similar to the same area at the front end – emphasises the width of the SUV. When the “Chrome & Style” package is ordered, a wrap-around chrome strip is integrated in the bumper. Integrated between the exhaust tailpipes is a diffuser that has also been redesigned. Designers have relocated the LED rear fog lights to the bumper, which – as in the previous model – also integrates the rear reflectors. Visual highlights in the area of the boot lid, viewed from bottom to top, are the re-designed VW badge and a sharpened character line between the rear lights (LED optional).

    Side profile. From the sides, the Touareg is distinguished by two new wheel designs. The 18-inch wheel of the new model generation is the “Arica” alloy wheel whose distinctive and sporty look includes ten spokes. The 20-inch “Masafi” alloy wheels, on the other hand, have five twin spokes. Supplementing the optional windows that absorb 65 per cent of the light, there is an option for 90 per cent light-absorbing rear glass which gives an almost opaque appearance to those looking in from the outside.

    Colours. Volkswagen is offering the latest Touareg in a total of twelve body colours; five of these colours are new to the programme: “Light Silver Metallic”, “Sand Gold Metallic”, “Moonlight Blue Metallic”, “Black Oak Brown Metallic” and “Reef Blue Metallic”.

    Interior design and features

    Controls. The interior of the Touareg reflects an extraordinary alliance of rugged SUV elements and sophisticated premium-class elements. SUV elements in the Touareg include the aluminium rotary knobs for the Climatronic system, running gear adjustment, air suspension, radio-navigation system, mirror adjustment and the air vent knobs – they have now all been replaced by a new style of rotary knob, which has been perfected both to look and to touch. Also conspicuous is the white – rather than red – illumination of all controls. Also new: chrome accents around the control panel modules and the running gear adjustment controls. Above the infotainment system, the central push button/display bar on the centre console was extended; previously, the three elements: “Park Distance Control” (PDC), hazard warning unit and status display “Passenger airbag off” were the controls here, from left to right. Now, a new switch for steering wheel heating has been added to the left of the PDC push button, and the new push button for windscreen heating has been integrated to the right of the passenger airbag indicator. New in the area of the front seats: a manual lumbar support adjustment for the entry-level Touareg model.

    Upholstery materials and accents. The line-up of upholstery materials and wood accents was also extended. Consider the “Vienna leather”: a fourth colour, “Bonanza Brown” (dark brown), is now offered in addition to the colours “Titan black”, “Corn Silk Beige” and “Natural Brown”. Besides these four colours, there is also the very elegant “Nappa leather” which can now be ordered in the new colour “St. Tropez” (light sand hue). Also new: the two fine wood accents “Sapelli Mahagoni” and “Engineered Ebony”.

    Extensive range of standard features. The V6 FSI and V6 TDI models come from the factory equipped with standard features such as bi-xenon headlights (new for all versions), all-wheel drive, 17-inch alloy wheels (size 235 tyres), cruise control system with multifunction steering wheel, RCD 550 infotainment system with touchscreen, stop-start system, regenerative braking, coasting function, climate control system (Climatronic), servo steering and ESC with trailer stabilisation function. The V8 versions and the Touareg Hybrid are distinguished by extra standard features such as 18-inch alloy wheels (size 255 tyres), the “Chrome & Style” design package, comfort seats in “Vienna leather”, fine wood accents, electric opening and closing function for the boot lid, anti-theft warning system and the Keyless Access locking and engine starting system. Also factory-installed is a rear bench seat that offers 160 mm of longitudinal adjustment; the seat backrest angle can also be adjusted. The rear bench seat can be electrically unlatched as an option; this folds it down in seconds and frees up 1,642 litres of cargo capacity.

    Sporty R-Line. In late summer, Volkswagen will also be launching the very sporty R-Line features packages (exterior and interior). The R-Line exterior package upgrades the outside of the SUV and includes such features as 19-inch alloy wheels (“Salvador” design; other 19-, 20- and 21-inch wheels available as options), bumpers in R-Line design (front bumper in style of Touareg V8 versions), glossy black air inlets with additional chrome trim, side sill extensions, glossy black diffuser at rear (also with additional chrome trim), chrome tailpipes for the Touareg V8 versions and a rear spoiler that is as distinctive as it is sporty. In addition, an R-Line decal in the radiator grille screen signposts the car’s dynamic features. The R-Line interior package adds the following to the Touareg: a sport steering wheel, R-Line “Silver Lane” inlays, R-Line door sill plates, stainless steel pedal caps and tinted rear windows. The package can also be optionally extended to include a black rooflining, black piano finish inlays and sport seat system in “Nappa leather” (two-tone) or “Alcantara/Nappa” with the R logo on the head restraints (Germany: interior package and extension do not include tinted rear windows or piano finish).

    High-tech SUV. The Touareg offers numerous assistance and convenience systems to the most innovative SUV on the market. Some examples: its parking brake is activated at the push of a button. The motor oil level is electronically displayed in the Touareg. Automatic opening and closing of the boot lid is optional. The largest panoramic sliding sunroof of any SUV brings ample light into the car even on overcast days. The Area View assistance system recognises the surrounding environment of the Touareg via four cameras, which adds to the vehicle’s safety. Up to nine airbags offer all-round protection. Lane Assist ensures that the vehicle does not stray from the proper path; and Side Assist warns of vehicles approaching from the rear when changing lanes. ACC adaptive cruise control plus Front Assist with City Emergency Braking brakes to a standstill if necessary. The PreCrash occupant protection system networks the assistance systems and ensures that in case of an accident not only are the belts tensioned, but – if lateral dynamics indicate this is necessary – the windows and the panoramic sunroof are closed. Also innovative are the bi-xenon headlights with optional Dynamic Light Assist. This camera-based main-beam control system “sees” oncoming traffic and vehicles driving ahead and automatically controls the main beam lights, individually for each headlight – via the cornering light module – without producing glare for others in traffic. Altogether, the sum of these parts makes the Touareg one of the safest vehicles ever.

    Engine and all-wheel drive technology

    V6 and V8 engines. The all-wheel drive Touareg is available – depending on the sales region – as a model with a turbodiesel (V6 and V8 TDI), petrol (V6 and V8 FSI), turbocharged petrol (V6 TSI) or Hybrid (V6 TSI & electric motor) drive system. The V6 engines come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. All engines have a stop-start system as standard; they also utilise regenerative braking to recover kinetic energy.

    4MOTION. In the base version, all Touareg vehicles have the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system with Torsen differential lock (max. climbing angle: 31 degrees). In addition, all Touareg versions have an off-road driving programme that is operated via a two-stage rotary switch. It configures the ABS, EDS and ASR systems for off-road use and activates hill climb assist and gearshift points of the automatic gearbox. As an option, customers can order the Touareg V6 TDI with 190 kW / 258 PS with the Terrain Tech package; in this case, instead of a Torsen differential the vehicle is equipped with a differential that is designed to be even more sturdy for off-road use. It includes a reduction gear stage and central and rear differential locks that offer up to 100 per cent locking (4XMOTION: max. climbing angle of 45 degrees). This version has a five-stage turn wheel which the driver uses to configure the SUV for different uses.

    European diesel – V6 TDI with SCR-DPF catalytic converter and V8 TDI. In Europe, customers can choose from three TDI engines and the Touareg Hybrid. The TDI engines produce 150 kW / 204 PS, 190 kW / 258 PS (10 kW more now) and 250 kW / 340 PS. The Touareg Hybrid has a total system power output of 279 kW / 380 PS. The two V6 TDI engines will now conform to the EU6 emissions standard that takes effect in September 2015. As part of this conversion, the two engines are now equipped with a new SCR-DPF catalytic converter module, an SCR metering module (AdBlue) and an additional blocking catalytic converter (removes excess ammonia); in addition, the emission control system has an oxidation catalytic converter. At the same time, fuel consumption of the 204-PS V6 TDI BlueMotion Technology version was reduced from 7.0 l/100 km (equates to 184 g/km CO2) to 6.6 l/100 km (174 g/km CO2). As mentioned, the power was boosted in the 258-PS version: The “large” V6 TDI now develops 10 kW / 13 PS more power; and yet its fuel consumption was reduced from 7.2 l/100 km (equates to 189 g/km CO2) to 6.8 l/100 (178 g/km CO2). The most powerful diesel continues to be the V8 TDI with 250 kW / 340 PS.

    European petrol engines – hybrid drive with V6 TSI and electric motor. In Europe, Volkswagen is offering the Touareg Hybrid, which has a 245 kW / 333 PS V6 TSI (turbocharged direct petrol injection engine) together with a 38 kW / 52 PS electric motor. When the two drive sources are working together (boosting), the maximum system power of 279 kW / 380 PS and maximum torque of 580 Newton metres are attained. Despite that, the Touareg Hybrid sets the benchmark among fully-fledged off-road SUVs with a petrol engine with a fuel consumption figure of just 8.2 l/100 km (equates to 193 g/km CO2). It can drive at speed up to 50 km/h in all-electric driving – with zero emissions. Like all Touareg versions, the Hybrid version is also designed for trailer loads of up to 3.5 metric tonnes.

    Global petrol and diesel engines – V6 and V8 engines. In Asia, the new Touareg is being offered with three petrol and two diesel engines. The petrol engines for China produce 213 kW / 290 PS and 235 kW / 320 PS (both V6 TSI) and 265 kW / 360 PS (V8 TSI). For Russia, Volkswagen offers the new Touareg with two petrol engines; they develop 183 kW / 249 PS (V6 FSI) and – as in China – 265 kW / 360 PS (V8 FSI). In the USA and Canada, Volkswagen will offer versions of the Touareg with a V6 FSI (206 kW / 280 PS), a Hybrid drive system (279 kW / 380 PS) and a V6 TDI (176 kW / 239 PS).

    Fuel consumption reduced by up to six per cent. Thanks to extensive aerodynamic improvements (such as air inlet openings in front, modified door mirror caps, new wheel spoiler), tyres optimised for low rolling resistance and standard 8-speed automatic gearbox optimised for low friction, Volkswagen was able to improve the fuel efficiency of the Touareg by up to six per cent (V6 TDI with 150 kW). In everyday driving, fuel consumption is also reduced by an optimised stop-start system (engine is stopped at speeds under 7 km/h now) and by the regenerative braking function. In addition, a standard coasting function for the V6 versions (until now only available with the Touareg Hybrid) optimises fuel economy in everyday driving. How it works: as soon as the driver releases the accelerator pedal, the engine is decoupled from the gearbox; this is also known as “coasting”. This is even possible at vehicle speeds up to 130 km/h, so it can be used in motorway driving as well.

    Touareg with New Design and New Technologies: New 262 PS V6 TDI Consumes Just 6.6 l/100 km

    – Exterior – new front and rear; bi-xenon headlights as standard
    – Engineering – EU6 TDI with SCR catalytic converter and coasting function

    The Touareg combines comfort and convenience features of a superior SUV with the all-terrain attributes of a sophisticated off-road vehicle. This configuration of the four-wheel drive Volkswagen sports utility vehicle, which doubles as a robust off-roader for any trip around the globe, gives it a fascination all of its own. Now, Volkswagen has given the Touareg a significantly sharper look and enhanced it technically in all areas. Features of the new Touareg generation include a redesigned front and rear, new driver assistance systems such as Automatic Post-Collision Braking System as standard, a new generation of the ACC adaptive cruise control, new online services, appreciably more fuel-efficient and in some cases more powerful V6 TDI engines with SCR catalytic converter and EU6 certification and an improved layout of the suspension.

    Exterior with new front and rear designs. As already mentioned, the latest Touareg is identifiable visually by its redesigned front and rear. Striking features at the front are the bi-xenon headlights, also redesigned and now standard on all models. At the back new rear lights are used. In the ‘Chrome & Style’ version the new Touareg is enhanced by a chrome strip running around the lower part of the vehicle body. The range of colours has been updated (new: ‘Reef Blue Metallic’, ‘Sand Gold Metallic’, ‘Black Oak Brown Metallic’ and ‘Moonlight Blue Pearl Effect’), while the designers have also given a new look to four of the total of 16 styles of alloy wheels available: ‘Arica’ (18-inch), ‘Salvador’ (19-inch from Volkswagen R), ‘Masafi’ (20-inch) and ‘Talladega’ (20-inch from Volkswagen R).

    Interior with new materials, colours and switches. Redesigned interior features include the aluminium switches typical of the Touareg. They now look as though they have been milled from a solid block of metal. All buttons and switches now illuminated in white (instead of red as before) gives the interior ambience an additionally refined feel. The range of interior colours and styles of leather has been extended, while two new decorative wood trims have been designed to match these colours and styles: ‘Sapelli Mahogany’ and ‘Engineered Ebony’.

    EU6 emissions standard for V6 TDI with coasting function. In terms of technical enhancements, particular focus has been placed on the V6 TDI engines, as in Europe over 90 per cent of all Touareg sales are of models with one of the two V6 TDI engine capacities on offer. Both six-cylinder engines have been modified and upgraded by adding an SCR catalytic converter. Using ‘selective catalytic reduction’, the amount of nitrogen oxides in the exhaust fumes is significantly reduced. Thanks to the SCR catalytic converter the ‘Touareg 4MOTION V6 TDI BlueMotion Technology’, as it is called in full, meets the demanding EU6 emissions standard. Also new on the V6 TDI: a coasting function. While the vehicle is coasting, the standard 8-speed automatic transmission is disengaged in order to utilise the kinetic energy during periods where no acceleration is required and thus to reduce fuel consumption still further. Aerodynamic refinements to the vehicle body and underbody, plus the introduction of new tyres optimised for low roll resistance, also have a fuel-saving effect: consumption on the 150-kW version (204 PS)1 has been reduced from 7.0 to 6.6 litres of diesel per 100 km; this equates to a reduction in CO2 from 184 g/km to 173 g/km. The advances are even clearer in the case of the larger of the two V6 TDI engines, the power output of which has been increased from 180 kW (245 PS) to 193 kW (262 PS)2: despite this added power, its consumption falls from 7.2 to likewise 6.6 l/100 km (equating to 174 g/km of CO2). In the case of the ‘Terrain Tech’ version3 – the Touareg with special off-road applications and a four-wheel drive system with low range set of gear ratios, designed among things for particularly demanding off-road conditions – there is an improvement from 7.3 to 6.9 l/100 km.

    Updated suspension and new assistance systems. The standard steel-spring suspension has been optimised, with improvements including even more agile steering and extra comfort. Available again as an option for the Touareg is an air suspension system, with which ground clearance can be increased to as much as 300 mm on off-road terrain. Meanwhile, at higher speeds (140 km/h and above) the air suspension automatically lowers the vehicle’s body.

    Infotainment with new online services. In combination with the RNS 850 radio/navigation system and mobile phone preparation, the Touareg will for the first time be available with mobile online services. These will include a ‘Point-of-Interest (POI) Search’ via Google, map display provided by the ‘Google Earth™ mapping service’, the ‘Google Street View™’ function and ‘Online Traffic Information’.

    Launch from autumn 2014. The new Touareg is initially being launched in Western Europe this autumn as diesel (V6 TDI and V8 TDI) and hybrid (V6 TSI plus electric motor) models. Orders are already being taken in Germany. Launches subsequently follow in Russia (end of 2014) and North America and Asia (early 2015). In those markets, Volkswagen will also be offering the Touareg once again with V6 and V8 petrol engines, as it has traditionally done.

    Touareg z novim dizajnom in novimi tehnologijami

    Touareg združuje udobje SUV-ja višjega avtomobilskega razreda in “offroad” lastnosti zahtevnih terenskih vozil. Takšna zasnova štirikolesno gnanega Volkswagna – tj. vrhunsko športno-terensko vozilo in obenem vzdržljiv terenec za potovanje okoli sveta – ustvarja prav posebno privlačnost. Volkswagen je zunanje linije Touarega naredil dosti bolj ostre, tehnično pa je vozilo v vseh pogledih izpopolnjeno. Nova oblikovna zasnova sprednjega in zadnjega dela, novi asistenčni sistemi, kot so serijska funkcija večnaletnega zaviranja in nova generacija avtomatskega uravnavanje razdalje (ACC), nove spletne storitve, varčnejša motorja V6 TDI s katalizatorjem SCR (eden ima tudi povečano moč), ki izpolnjujeta zahteve izpušne stopnje EU6, ter izboljšana zasnova podvozja – vse to so značilnosti nove generacije Touarega.

    Novi Touareg je navzven prepoznaven po novi obliki sprednjega in zadnjega dela. Spredaj izstopajo markantni, odslej serijski in prav tako na novo zasnovani biksenonski žarometi. Zadek zaznamujejo nove zadnje luči. Pri izvedbi “Chrom & Style” daje novemu Touaregu elegantnejšo podo­bo kromirana letev, ki poteka na spodnjem delu po celotnem obsegu karoserije. Osvežili so tudi barvno paleto (nove barve: podvodno modra kovinska, peščeno zlata kovinska, hrastovo rjava kovinska in mesečinasto modra biserna); poleg tega so oblikovalci na novo zasnovali štiri od skupno 16 tipov aluminijastih platišč: Arica (18-palčna), Salvador (19-palčna, Volkswagen R), Masafi (20-palčna) in Talladega (20-palčna, Volkswagen R).

    Notranjost z novimi materiali, barvami in stikali.

    V notranjosti so med drugim na novo zasnovali Touaregova značilna aluminijasta stikala; zdijo se, kot bi bila izrezkana iz enega samega kovinskega kosa. Osvetlitev vseh stikal in regulatorjev je zdaj bela (prej rdeča), kar notranjemu ambi­entu pridaja eleganco. Obogatena je ponudba notranjih barv in usnja, z njo pa sta usklajeni tudi dve novi vrsti lesenih dekorativnih elementov: Sapelli Mahagoni in Engineered Ebony.

    Standard EU6 za motorja V6 TDI s funkcijo ‘jadranja’.

    V središču tehničnega izpopolnjevanja sta bila v prvi vrsti motorja V6 TDI, saj je v Evropi več kot 90 odstotkov vseh Touaregov prodanih z enim od obeh motorjev V6 TDI. Oba šestvaljnika sta sedaj spremenjena in obogatena s kataliza­torjem SCR. Pri “selektivni katalitični redukciji” (SCR) se v izpušnih plinih znatno zmanjša delež dušikovih oksidov; zaradi katalizatorja SCR izvedbe “Touareg 4MOTION V6 TDI BlueMotion Technology” – takšna je namreč njihova celotna oznaka – že sedaj izpolnjujejo zahteve stroge izpušne stopnje EU6. Novost pri motorjih V6 TDI je tudi funkcija ‘jadranja’ (vožnje v prostem teku). Med ‘jadranjem’ se pre­kine povezava med motorjem in serijskim 8-stopenjskim avtomatskim menjalnikom, tako da se v fazah, ko voznik ne dodaja plina, lahko izkorišča kinetična energija vozila, kar vpliva na zmanjšanje porabe goriva. Precizne izboljšave aerodinamike na karoseriji in dnu vozila ter uvedba novih pnevmatik z manjšim kotalnim uporom imajo prav tako pozitiven učinek na prihranek goriva: pri izvedbi z močjo 150 kW (204 KM) se je poraba dizelskega goriva zmanjšala s 7,0 na 6,6 l/100 km; posledično se je emisija CO2 zmanjšala s 184 g/km na 173 g/km. Še bolj izrazit pa je napredek pri močnejšem od obeh agregatov V6 TDI, pri katerem so moč povečali s 180 kW (245 KM) na 193 kW (262 KM): kljub večji moči se je njegova poraba zmanjšala s 7,2 na 6,6 l/100 km (kar ustreza emisiji CO2 174 g/km). Pri izvedbi “Terrain Tech” – to je Touareg s posebnimi terenskimi dodatki in štirikolesnim pogonom z reduktorjem, ki je med drugim zasnovan za najtežje terenske razmere – se je poraba goriva zmanjšala s 7,3 na 6,9 l/100 km.

    Posodobljeno podvozje in novi asistenčni sistemi.

    Serijsko podvozje z jeklenimi vzmetmi je optimizirano; od izboljšav naj tu omenimo bolj dinamične krmilne lastnosti in višji nivo udobja. Opcijsko je za Touarega tudi zdaj na voljo zračno vzmetenje, s katerim lahko na primer pri terenski vožnji odmik karoserije od tal povečamo na do 300 mm; pri višjih hitrostih (nad 140 km/h) pa se karoserija po zaslugi zračnega vzmetenja samodejno spusti.

    Multimedijski sistemi z novimi spletnimi storitvami.

    V kombinaciji z radijsko-navigacijskim sistemom RNS 850 in pripravo za mobilni telefon bodo za Touarega prvič na voljo “mobilne spletne storitve”. Na voljo bodo iskanje interesnih točk (POI) preko Googla, prikaz zemljevidov preko “Google Earth™ mapping service”, funkcija “Google Street View™” in “spletne prometne informacije”.

    Prihod na trg jeseni 2014.

    Novi Touareg bo jeseni na trg prišel najprej v Zahodni Evropi in sicer v dizelski (V6 TDI in V8 TDI) ter hibridni izvedbi (V6 TSI z elektromotorjem). V Nemčiji je že stekla predprodaja. Zatem se bo prodaja začela še v Rusiji (konec 2014), Severni Ameriki in Aziji (začetek 2015); Volkswagen bo Touarega tam tradicionalno spet ponudil tudi v bencinskih izvedbah V6 in V8.

    New Volkswagen Touareg R-Design

    Launched in 2011 as an all-new generation in 2011, the Volkswagen Touareg is now enjoying its mid-lifecycle facelift. As you might expect being mid-way through its run, changes are subtle, but do their part to enhance the already handsome looks of Volkswagen’s top-of-the-line SUV.

    Volkswagen’s sole display car at Paris was a nicely kitted Touareg R-design spec. Newly designed bi-xenon headlights are standard, changing their dot-to-dot lighting signature for a similarly shaped solid line of lightwork. This pairs to also to a new grille and taillight design.

    R-design specifically comes with a more sporting lower fascia that carries the rocker panel’s chrome strip the whole way around the car. Lower rocker panels on the doors also get a more winged shape.

    Volkswagen Touareg R-line

    Inside, changes are subtle, though trim updates keep it fresh. More substantial is the navigation system, complete with Google search and satellite maps, wi-fi functionality and live traffic data.

    Out on the roads of Paris, the Volkswagen Group was using new Touaregs in its shuttle service fleet. Viewing the Touareg in the real world, the subtle facelift had even more visual impact than it did on the show stand.

    With the Touareg facelift now in production, it will likely only be a few months until we can expect to see them in the USA.

    Volkswagen je v Ženevo pripeljal tudi aktualnega Touarega. Po vsej vrjetnosti pa ga kaj kmalu čaka zamenjava oz. nova generacija.

    Volkswagen je na preventivno kontrolo vpoklical 391.000 vozil touareg od modelnega leta 2011 do 2016 z vsega sveta zaradi slabo pritrjenega varovalnega obročka na zavornem pedalu. 217 takšnih je v Sloveniji.

    Vsi avtomobilski proizvajalci svoje proizvode nenehno preverjajo, ne samo tiste, ki šele prihajajo na tržišče. Tako so tudi pri Volkswagnu nedavno naleteli na težavo pri modelu touareg, ki pa jo bodo vsem lastnikom odpravili brezplačno. Razlog je možnost slabo pritrjenega varovalnega obročka na mehanizmu zavornega pedala, kar bodo preverili na uradnih servisih. Težava je bila odkrita pri internih preiskavah in so jo v tekoči proizvodnji že odpravili. Volkswagen bo neposredno kontaktiral lastnike vozil, potrebna dela bodo predvidoma zaključena v približno pol ure in bodo opravljena brezplačno.
